Meet the Investment Influencers: Henderson's James de Bunsen

The fund selection and fund research markets are a major part of the multi-trillion pound investment industry but who are the key players within it?

In the latest of our series of video interviews with the most respected individuals who select funds, decide ratings or otherwise influence the allocation of investor fund flows, we meet James de Bunsen, a fund manager in Henderson Global Investors' multi-asset team, which manages £4.7bn across a range of strategies.

As lead manager of the Henderson Multi-Manager Absolute Return Fund and co-manager of the Henderson Alternative Strategies Trust and Henderson Diversified Alternatives Fund, de Bunsen, who is a is a CFA Charterholder, has a particular focus on alternative investments.

Prior to joining Henderson at the start of 2013, he was a partner and portfolio manager at Armstrong Investment Managers, where the team won several performance awards. Before Armstrong, de Bunsen spent five years at Insight Investment, having started his career as a journalist and editor across a variety of business magazines.

The Investment Influencers series, which has most recently featured Darius McDermott of Chelsea Financial Services, John Husselbee of Liontrust and Michelle McGrade of TD Wealth International, will continue over the coming months, offering insights into how key industry players see the world of investing and expect to deal with such challenges as increased regulation, greater market volatility and a growing trend towards short-termism.
