Clive Waller 'proud' of industry as Platform Awards raises £54k for Cancer Research

Clive Waller, founder of the annual Platform Awards, has expressed his pride at thanks for the industry, which raised £54,000 for his late wife Monica's chosen charity Cancer Research.

Last week, we celebrated excellence, achievement and success at the Aberdeen UK Platform Awards dinner at the London Hilton on Park Lane. The sector has travelled a great distance since our first event in February 2007. Yet some things have not changed. The judging process is utterly independent. We have categories that are judged by panels of independent experts, we have categories where adviser votes decide who should win. Both processes are fully outsourced to the Institute of Financial Planning, which runs the voting and  provides the chairman to the judges.   Generous...
