London's housing boom London's housing market boom shows no signs of slowing down as research from property website Rightmove shows the asking price of a home in the capital rose by more than £50,000 last month. The Guardian reports on the Rightmove figures which show the average asking price in London rose to £544,232 in October from £493,748 in September. Rightmove has labelled the boom ‘unsustainble' and warned that the government's Help to Buy scheme is unlikely be much benefit to Londoners as mortgage repayments cost double the national average.
