Born in Holyhead in 1954, Evan Owen's first job was as an architectural technician and later a designer. In a near one hundred and eighty degree change of direction, Evan decided to enter the world of finance. While working at a series of life offices and banks in the 1980s and 1990s, he was shocked to discover the lack of regulation governing his chosen industry. In 1987, Evan welcomed the new regulation but as his career progressed he continued to witness more and more cases where regulation simply failed.
