Sometimes the relationship between adviser and client does not work out - so how do platforms deal with ‘orphaned' customers?

There is some conflicting evidence, but the general consensus in the world of platforms is this: they are getting more popular (a poll of some 800 advisers last year found 44% have signed up to at least one). So what happens when said clients are no longer serviced by the adviser who originally placed them on the platform?
