Personal loans from Intelligent Finance

Intelligent Finance is launching a campaign to enable Professional Advisers to improve their clients' perspective on personal loans.

Too often clients are reluctant to take out personal loans because they worry about over-committing to variable rates of interest or that they'll be unfairly penalised because they wish to pay off their loan early.

However, at Intelligent Finance, no matter how much a client borrows between £1,000 and £25,000, our very attractive fixed rate of 8.9% APR is guaranteed to remain the same throughout the term of the personal loan. And clients can repay their loan early without having to incur any early repayment fees. Intelligent Finance is the only company with whom clients can choose to offset their personal loan without having a mortgage with them.

By allowing clients to offset the money they have with Intelligent Finance in a current account and/or savings against the money they borrow, they could pay no interest on part or all of their personal loan. For example, if your client had £2,000 in their current account and a personal loan of £10,000 with Intelligent Finance, by choosing not to earn any interest on their current account balance, they pay no interest on £2,000 of their personal loan and continue to pay their regular monthly payments, which are not affected by offsetting. The remaining balance of £8,000 has not been offset, so they will still benefit from an attractive fixed rate of 8.9% APR. What's more, as they are not receiving any interest on the money they have with us, there's no tax to pay.

To help Advisers communicate this message to clients, Intelligent Finance has produced a promotional leaflet which Advisers can over-print with their own contact details and give to their clients. Copies can be obtained by calling their Adviser Sales Support Team on 0131 658 2320.

Placing business with Intelligent Finance is a fast and easy process. In fact, Advisers could receive approval in principle in minutes on a personal loan application. What's more, commission is payable on all completed applications placed with Intelligent Finance. Advisers also receive commission each time one of their clients decides to take out an additional product with the bank.

Intelligent Finance obtained a 9 per cent share of the UK net mortgage lending in its first year of operation with almost 70 per cent of that business coming through Professional Advisers. At the end of the first year, Intelligent Finance had actual balances across its product range of £7.5 billion.

Ian Jeffery, Sales Director of Intelligent Finance, said: "We have consistently devised tools to ensure that we work in partnership with Advisers – with a dedicated contact centre, a dedicated website and a UK-wide team of account executives providing local support for Advisers. This marketing initiative for personal loans is the latest in an ever-evolving development programme for Advisers, who we feel provide a vital role in communicating financial advice to the consumer."
