The publication of the 2024 Nucleus UK Retirement Confidence Index (RCI) shed some rather pessimistic light on the mood of UK adults. Regarding having enough money to live comfortably for the rest of their life, the overall confidence score (out of 10) slumped yet further from last year's score of 6.9, to just 4.6. Only over-50s were surveyed last year, so this may at least in part be due to cost of living and affordability issues for younger respondents. However, within the overall numbers, we also found the 55-plus cohort scoring a lowly 5.1. There's been considerable discussion ...
