I don't think many investors will be sad to see the back of 2022. Almost every asset class has seen price declines and the news has gone from bad to worse. Rapidly rising and persistent inflation, followed by rapidly rising interest rates, have left few places to hide. A quick look at the performance of the 58 Investment Association sectors this calendar year shows that just the IA Commodity/Natural Resources and IA Latin America sectors have made any real money, returning 17.8% and 16.3% for investors, according to FE Fundinfo.
