Imagine you are a professional football coach. Fresh from being sacked from your last job by a wealthy foreign owner after your team lost three games in a row, you now have two new job offers in front of you. The first is for Aston Villa. The previous season they finished mid-table in the Premiership. They bought good new players, who performed as well as being expected.
