When I mention to people that I used to be a pastry chef, you can forgive them for thinking that it couldn't be more different from my current role as an operations coordinator at financial advice firm Progeny. You might be surprised, however, that I've discovered quite a number of transferable skills (the art of making a perfect creme patissiere aside!) and my journey demonstrates that you should never underestimate your ability to make a successful career change.
