A great deal has happened to the UK platform sector over the last three years, which means a great deal can also happen over the next three. Here Tom Ellis imagines how the market might look in 2022

Fast-forward three years and how might the UK platform sector look? Will Aegon have pulled out of the advised market? Could FundsNetwork boast Hargreaves Lansdown-like levels of scale? Might Royal London's Ascentric have emerged as the space's number-one? Such scenarios may seem entirely unlikely by 2022 - and of course I am being a tad facetious - but the sector's progress over the last three years suggests they are not impossible.
