From October 2018, the Policy Statement Advising on Pension Transfers published by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) introduces some significant changes for those advisers involved in this specialist area. Crucially, it mandates a personal recommendation based on an individual's needs and circumstances, and factors to assess suitability. Completing a transfer value comparator (TVC) within the transfer analysis will become compulsory and the format and content of a TVC report is prescribed.
