This weekend many of us will be waving a union jack, tying bunting or celebrating our days off at a street party. And why? Because the now 86 year-old queen was crowned 60 years ago.

Coinciding with the Jubilee is Aviva's latest family finance report with a special look at how the financial circumstances of UK families have changed over the last 60 years. Headline changes include an increase in home ownership at 70% compared with 31% in 1952. Also mentioned are changes to the value of these properties (now typically £162,722 - 86 times more expensive than they were in 1952 (£1,891)). But there are similarities between then and now too.
