The recent death of Michael Jackson started me thinking about other famous people who have died prematurely, a bit morbid I know!

There are the recent examples of Natasha Richardson, Heath Ledger and Jade Goody. And thinking back further there's Princess Diana, John Lennon, James Dean, Kirsty MacColl, Freddie Mercury, Caron Keating to name but a few. All of these deaths were sudden and unexpected. Michael Jackson suffered a fatal heart attack, despite apparently passing a series of health tests only a few months ago to ensure he was fit enough to perform at the 02.
