Today a colleague asked me what I'd been up to over the weekend. I reeled off a list of highlights. A couple of fitness classes, took my son to see ‘Transformers' at the cinema, watched another (much better) film called ‘Hot Fuzz' on DVD , went to a swimming gala and had a delicious Sunday lunch of roast chicken and Yorkshire puddings.
To my surprise my colleague didn't want to know about the films - she immediately latched onto the fact that I had Yorkshire puddings with chicken. She thought that was a bit unusual, unique even – after all, the traditional approach is to have Yorkshire puddings with roast beef. I’d draw the line at fish, but other than that I’d be quite happy to have Yorkshire puddings with any roast whether it be beef, chicken or pork. My colleague looked surprised.
