The annual spring clean

I spent an enjoyable hour yesterday afternoon blitzing through a few piles of paperwork. This has become an annual ritual for me in the week before I leave to go on holiday. It is amazing how satisfying it is to decimate stacks of brochures, letters and other assorted marketing junk.

As a profession we do seem to have an unhealthy obsession with paper. A couple of years ago we made an effort to readdress our relationship with paper and I am pleased to report it was mostly successful. Rather than aim for - what we believe to be - the unrealistic goal of a ‘paperless’ office we decided we wanted ‘less paper’. This coincided with a need to archive ten years worth of client files to free up a whole floor of our offices.
