Almost every day I see an article and comments from one sector or another stating that the solution to our ills is education for consumers on the need for protection policies.

But I wonder if this is the key step we need to take, or perhaps even if it is that necessary in many cases? Ask customers to read through basic product descriptions of critical illness, income protection and private medical insurance, then ask them if they understand the concept and which one would best fit the need of somebody earning a daily wage. Most customers are capable of identifying the features of income protection as being the best suited in general concept.
