At the time of writing, the industry is holding its breath to learn what the FSA has to say under the Retail Distribution Review.
With no crystal ball to hand one can only speculate, on an informed basis, as to what the eventual outcome will be and the speed of change, whether enforced or market driven. The money appears to be on a move away from commission income streams to fees and fund-based remuneration models. However, whilst remuneration based on funds under management is seen as an important strand under the new model, too much reliance on this method can hold some risks.
