Advisers see clients arrive with AI-generated plans

AI could spell end of ‘1% of assets’ advice model

Clients are beginning to come to their adviser with generative artificial intelligence financial plans and are using the technology to sense-check their advisers’ recommendations, delegates heard.

Speaking on a panel at Verve's Transformation conference yesterday (8 September), advisers said AI would make information, research, tax analysis, cash flow modelling and scenario planning increasingly accessible to consumers – putting pressure on traditional charging models. TFP Financial Planning director Dan Haylett said the industry could see a shift from "AI versus advice" towards a hybrid model combining technology with specialist human intervention. "I think this is AI and occasional specialist human need and interaction and advice versus the 1% of your advice," Haylett said. ...
