FCA: Simplified advice rules update imminent; MPS review outcome set for 2027

The Financial Conduct Authority is set to publish final rules on simplified advice by the end of the year and its model portfolio services (MPS) review findings should be released at the start of 2027.

Speaking at Verve's Transformation conference today (8 September), FCA head of department for consumer investments Kate Tuckley gave an update on expected timelines for the rules and review findings. The FCA launched its simplified advice consultation last March, with responses having since closed in May. Consultation respondents called for clear guidance and expectations, with "flexibility" highlighted as a vital part of the new framework.
