Aberdeen Investments eyes real estate funds merger to create £700m strategy

Aberdeen Investments has submitted a proposal to investors to combine the abrdn Real Estate, abrdn Real Estate Feeder and abrdn Global Real Estate funds to create a flagship global hybrid real estate strategy with over £700m in assets.

Subject to investor approval, the move is expected to complete in November 2026 and follows a review of Aberdeen's real estate fund range.  The combination is expected to simplify the fund offering while utilising assets in a larger, more diversified vehicle. Investors would gain access to a high-conviction, research-led global real estate portfolio which holds direct property investments in the UK and international markets with a diversified allocation to global listed real estate securities, meaning REITs and listed property companies.
