The government has set up a taskforce to tackle the issue of unclaimed child trust funds.
The move from Labour, announced today (29 June), comes as more than 750,000 young people have unclaimed accounts worth £2,200 on average and all together these are worth more than £1.6bn. The taskforce is headed up by economic secretary to the Treasury, Rachel Blake, and will be bringing together CTF providers and the government to drive a "coordinated effort" to increase reunification of accounts.
