Crispin Odey, founder of Odey Asset Management (OAM), has reportedly settled personal injury claims brought against him over sexual assault allegations.
Lawyers representing the five women told the Financial Times on Wednesday (13 May) that four settlements had been registered by the court. The women's claims were due to be heard in a joint trial, alongside a £79m libel case Odey brought against the FT, next month. Claimants in the personal injury case were to be witnesses in the libel case as well, which has since been dropped. A letter sent by Odey's lawyers in April stated that he had been "forced to accept" that the newspaper was "likely to succeed in establishing" its public interest defence.
