PFS's Pathway to the Profession project hits 500-member target

A third of new members are women

Nine months since its launch, the Personal Finance Society’s (PFS) Pathway to the Profession talent programme has reached its initial target of attracting 500 individuals to join the financial planning profession and become new PFS members.

The programme, which included complimentary entry into the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) Group's financial protection (R05) exam, has generated more than 1,000 expressions of interest, with 521 being accepted to begin their studies. This is up from the 250 expressions of interest the PFS received between the programmes launch and September 2025. According to the PFS, around three quarters of the new-member cohort are aged 30 or under, with four in 10 are in their 20s, one in three in their 30s, and around 5% in their teens.
