Orbis introduces three equity funds into UK

Orbis Investments (Orbis) has launched three of its long-standing equity strategies into the UK, covering Japan, emerging markets and international.

The funds, which Orbis stated reflect its "distinctive contrarian approach", have a focus on identifying undervalued companies, said to be a differentiator from peers. The Orbis SICAV Japan Equity Fund was launched in 1998, with a long-term, value-oriented, bottom-up approach to stock selection. The Japan fund is managed by Brett Moshal and Alex Bowles. Since inception, the fund has returned an annualised 10.1% net of fees, compared to 5.7% for the benchmark. The Orbis SICAV Emerging Markets Equity Fund is managed by Stefan Magnusson and Stanley Lu.
