Tributes paid to Morningstar's 'much-loved and highly-respected' Ruli Viljoen

Tributes have been made to Ruli Viljoen, head of manager selection at Morningstar, who passed away on 10 January "after a courageous battle with cancer".

During a career spanning three decades, Ruli was an influential leader in the investment industry after starting work as a fund selector in the UK in 1996. She was appointed as head of fund research at OBSR in 2009 before joining Morningstar in 2013 as head of manager selection. A spokesperson for Morningstar said: "We are deeply saddened by the passing of Ruli, a much-loved and highly respected figure in our industry.
