SJP complaints spike in H1 but wealth manager reports recent 'material decrease'

Latest FOS data shows there were 1,426 complaints in H1 2025

Complaints at St James’s Place (SJP) hit 1,426 in H1 2025, data from the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) has shown, though the wealth management giant told PA that it has recently experienced a slide in complaint numbers.

The 1,426 complaints received in H1 2025 is 194% greater than the 485 complaints the wealth manager received in H1 2024. The FOS' latest complaints data for January to June 2025 shows that SJP received 1,035 complaints related to decumulation life and pensions, 367 for investments, 16 for general insurance/pure protection, two for banking and credit, and five for mortgages and home finance.
