FCA opens targeted support consultation on rule changes

Regulator asks for feedback by 17 October

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has opened an additional targeted support consultation.

In an update on Friday (26 September), the financial services watchdog set out that it is now consulting on changes to its handbook rules to ensure that its targeted support proposals "work effectively with existing requirements". The FCA is proposing to refine some of the proposals set out in the CP25/17 consultation, which closed in August, such as those around commissions and charging. The regulator first released its targeted support findings on 30 June. Changes included bringing targeted support firmly under existing COBS standards, "ensuring clarity" on remuneration, inducements...
