FOS complaints hit lowest level for more than a year

Following joint call for input with the FCA and government proposals

Complaints at the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) have fallen to their lowest levels in more than a year, its quarterly figures have shown.

Released today (7 August), figures show that the FOS processed 68,000 complaints in the first three months of this financial year. At the same time last year, April to June 2024, the organisation received 74,600 new cases. The data is for all complaints received, so would include complaints about financial advice. PA understands that the most complained about issue for both pensions and investments is administration/customer service.
