Suttons Independent Financial Advisors (Suttons IFA) has acquired Bolton-based Whitewell Financial Planning (Whitewell).

Whitewell has approaching £40m in client assets under management. The firm was founded in 2008 by Phil O'Connor and provides financial planning, investment and retirement planning advice to individuals, business owners and directors, senior medics and other professionals. Chartered financial planner O'Connor is expected to remain the main point of contact for Whitewell clients. Sale-based Suttons, established in 2006 by Harvey Sutton, has £240m of assets under management and 20 staff. The firm was awarded Chartered status last November.
