FOS sides with Ludlow WM after client's professional representative made 'poor submissions'

Complaint not upheld against Ludlow Wealth Management

The Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) has not upheld a complaint against financial planning firm Ludlow Wealth Management after a lack of evidence and “poor submissions” from a professional representative.

In July 2024, Mrs W's professional representative lodged a complaint through against Ludlow & Co, claiming mis-selling of a Free Standing Additional Voluntary Contribution (FSAVC) plan. She argued that her adviser failed to assess her risk level, advised her incorrectly about the FSAVC's suitability, and did not compare it with other retirement options, among other issues. Ludlow & Co responded, stating it had no record of providing advice to Mrs W but only passing on a request to increase premiums.
