Lord Blunkett calls for urgent action on unclaimed child trust fund accounts

The UK government is under increasing pressure to address the issue of unclaimed Child Trust Fund (CTF) accounts, with Lord Blunkett recently having raised concerns in the House of Lords over young people struggling to access their matured savings.

During a parliamentary session on 19 March, Lord Blunkett questioned His Majesty's Government on what discussions they have had with CTF providers to improve access for account holders who have yet to claim their funds. Challenges facing young account holders Blunkett said: "We have been supporting many charities, including Support SEND Kids, and Andrew Turner's campaign—he is in the Chamber today.
