Advisers must empathise with female clients going through the divorce as the process is an emotional journey whoever instigated the split, delegates heard.

Speaking during a panel at the Personal Investment Management & Financial Advice Association (PIMFA) Women's Symposium yesterday (16 April), Investment Quorum chief executive Petronella West said clients were dealing with a form of grief during divorce and needed their adviser's support. The panel on financial implications to life events discussed what women needed to consider.
