PFS/CII saga reignites as ex-board member pens contentious open letter

Ex-Personal Finance Society (PFS) board member Vanessa Barnes has written an open letter to current chair Andy Briscoe asking a series of questions about the Chartered Insurance Institute's (CII) continued retention of what she says is more than £10m funds belonging to PFS members.

Barnes, a Chartered financial planner, quit the PFS board in June following the takeover of the board by CII members late last year and the resulting dispute which has continued throughout the year. Barnes' letter said she would like to register her concern regarding the CII Group 2022 report (the CII Group includes the PFS) and recent departures of key staff members including the chief executive, finance director and chief operating officer, professional standards director, and human resources director.
