New wealth manager joins the market with £200m acquisition

New firm Liberate Wealth has acquired Ebor Financial Planning

A new-to-market wealth manager has officially launched into the UK market today with the acquisition of Yorkshire firm Ebor Financial Planning.

Liberate Wealth was founded in 2022 by former EQ Investors chief executive Mark Howlett and will focus on the north of England as a key region for business expansion. Its first transaction has brought £200m in assets under management into the business and has created a team of 14 people. Ebor Financial Planning founder David Dixon will remain in a consulting role to Liberate Wealth, providing support with the integration.
