Vanguard shuts retirement planning service

Vanguard launched restricted planning service in 2021

Vanguard is to close its retirement planning service, which launched in April 2021, saying its clients were looking for “more adaptable forms of financial planning” from the company.

Vanguard Personal Financial Planning, which has been in operation for almost two years, cost 0.79% for its advice service, including ongoing fund charges, transaction and platform fees. It was launched as a restricted service, recommending only Vanguard products and investments.  The advice arm serviced those who had more than £50,000 to invest through its Vanguard UK Personal Investor platform. The investment giant said at the time it would recommend "a tailored investment portfolio made up of a finely-tuned mix of low-cost and broadly diversified equity and fixed income funds". H...
