Wren Sterling has acquired Mutual Financial Management, an IFA based in Wilmslow, Cheshire, and MDFM a discretionary fund manager.
Mutual has about 1,100 clients and £675m of assets under management (AUM). The deal takes the total AUM acquired by Wren Sterling over the last three years over the £1bn mark and pushes its own total assets to more than £5.4bn. The transaction, subject to regulatory approval, is Wren Sterling's first announced deal since its secondary management buyout by Lightyear Capital, finalised in late 2021, and its largest to date.
