ABI names Nicky Morgan as its first independent chair

The Association of British Insurers (ABI) has announced three new senior leadership appointments including Baroness Nicky Morgan as its first independent chair.

Morgan is to become the first independent chair of the association in a newly defined role, taking over from Jon Dye who is stepping down having served as ABI chair since July 2019. She previously served as secretary of state for education from 2014 to 2016 and secretary of state for digital, culture, media and sport from 2019 to 2020, and was the MP for Loughborough between 2010 and 2019.
