'An integrated ESG approach will be sustainable in the coming years'

When it comes to embedding ESG into investment strategies, an integrated, engagement-based approach can add value and is a “pragmatic approach we prefer for our investors”, Horizon by Embark chief executive officer Thomas Rostron has said.

Speaking during a webinar hosted by Professional Adviser, in association with Horizon by Embark, on Monday (29 June), Rostron emphasised the importance of being proactive around ESG, and favoured an integration strategy over exclusion strategies. "Despite excluding controversial weapons, which provides comfort to investors, exclusions stop there," he said of Horizon's ESG strategy.
