Applications for free Verve adviser training hit 400; 10 places secured by donations

The Verve Group initiative We Are Change, a not-for-profit that offers free training to budding financial advisers, has so far received 400 applications in its first two weeks, but only enough donation pledges to support 10 trainees.

The not-for-profit initiative, launched in October last year, was designed to build capacity across all levels and roles within financial services. It is a free training drive to attract and train individuals in order to build capacity across the industry.  The project was set up to encourage new talent - people the group said would not usually consider a career in financial services - to join the sector. So far, the pledges received are enough to cover the first cohort of 10 students, offering them a funded place, however, the group received 400 applications from budding trainees...
