Tragic adviser drowns himself after Covid-19 'ruined' business

A financial adviser apparently took his own life after the effects of Covid-19 destroyed his business of 30 years.

According to an article in the Daily Mail, adviser Nick Gunnell killed himself earlier this year in the River Ouse, York after the coronavirus lockdown caused his advice business problems.  Before the pandemic, the adviser had plans to sell his business, and along with his wife, was planning a tour of the Greek islands. However, the lockdown caused those plans to be cancelled and the sale of his business to fall through. The 55-year-old left a note for loved ones on 30 June which showed he was apologetic and expressed regret. It said: "Covid-19 got me." He was last seen on CCTV goi...
