Schroders appoints former IG chief to head up financial planning arm

Rainbow to exit role

Peter Hetherington is set to take over as chief executive officer of Schroders Personal Wealth - the financial planning arm of the investment giant.

Previously, Hetherington (pictured) was CEO of IG Group Holdings, and prior to that he held the role of chief operating officer and executive director. Hetherington - subject to regulatory approval - will take over from James Rainbow, who acted as CEO of Schroders Personal Wealth in its launch phase. Rainbow has moved to head of UK distribution and Latin America at Schroders. The new financial planning business was unveiled in February this year and is a joint venture between Schroders and Lloyds.
