Aegon hires chief information officer to lead platform tech

Aegon has appointed Lio Lopez-Welsch as digital solutions chief information officer as it looks to recover from its extensive re-platforming of the Cofunds platform.

Lopez-Welsch will be responsible for IT in Aegon's platform business and will lead the team responsible for the technology that underpins the company's platform services. The firm said he will also be tasked with identifying the technical enhancements Aegon will make on behalf of platform users. He will join the platform giant in May and report to Mark Till, managing director of digital solutions.
