FCA chief Bailey's pay package nears £600k in 2018

The chief executive of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) Andrew Bailey has seen his total remuneration boosted to £589,000 in 2018, up from £449,000 just a year earlier.

Figures on executive pay released by the regulator on Thursday (19 July) reveal Bailey (pictured) received a basic salary of £440,000 in the year to 31 March, up from £330,000 in 2017, a performance-related bonus of £75,000 and other benefits worth £34,000. In addition, the FCA boss will receive a pension valued at £40,000, up from £30,000 the year before. It follows the regulator's 2017 decision to boost the regulatory fees paid by portfolio managers by 5.3% fees in the 2017/18 financial year, bringing the annual total bill to £44.9m.
