Suffolk Life reveals gender pay gap figures

Two-fifths of top quartile employees are women

Pensions provider Suffolk Life was the latest financial services business to have published gender pay gap figures, revealing women were paid on average a quarter (24%) less on an hourly basis.

According to figures published on the gov.uk website, women made up around two-fifths (41%) of Suffolk Life's top quartile employees but accounted for around three-fifths (61%) of its upper middle quartile employees. The pension provider's lower middle quartile, however, was more than two-thirds (69%) female, while its lower quartile was nearly three-fifths (58%) female. Bonus pay for women at Suffolk Life was nearly half (46%) that of men. More than two-thirds (70%) of women received bonus versus around three-quarters (74%) of men.
