FCA urges steelworkers to push FOS for complaint guidance

The FCA has urged British Steel Pension Scheme (BSPS) members who have already complained to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) to go back to their case handler to discuss their next steps.

A notice on the website of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) was updated after Active Wealth, an advice firm at the centre of the British Steel saga, filed for voluntary liquidation months after being told to cease advising on new pensions business. The notice urged steelworkers to go back to the ombudsman to find out what to do next. It said: "BSPS members who have already complained to the FOS should speak to their case handler to discuss next steps, including whether their complaint will be transferred to the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) for consideration." ...
