FCA 'may be violating' market confidence principle

Rogue advisers who have not given regulated advice since 2013 featured on consumer comparison site Unbiased years after going bust, but Unbiased said the FCA was to blame for failing to provide a "more frequent feed in order to fix this issue".

The profile on Unbiased - taken down on 12 October 2017 - failed to mention the sketchy history of the firm, and the fact it had been in liquidation and not undertaken regulated business since 2013. On Thursday the FCA banned husband and wife financial adviser duo Westwood Independent Financial Planners from working in financial services for "integrity failings" following mis-selling claims.
