Women view advisers as 'male, distant and lacking in empathy'

There is a disconnect between women and financial advisers, with some women saying they feel uncomfortable in their presence, describing them as "male, distant and lacking in empathy", according to a report by Kantar.

The report Winning Over Women said the gap between men and women was most pronounced in the areas of investments and pensions. It suggested confidence was often the issue with women approaching financial services and advisers. But even women who felt secure about investing and did sufficient homework before they took decisions - about a quarter - felt uncomfortable with financial advisers, perceiving them as "distant" and "lacking empathy", the report said.
