Pro-Brexit MP John Mann to chair Treasury sub-committee

Pro-Brexit Labour MP for Bassetlaw John Mann has been appointed to chair the Treasury sub-committee, in charge of scrutinising the work of the minor departments accountable to the Treasury.

The appointment comes as the upcoming programme of the wider Treasury committee, chaired by Conservative MP for Loughborough Nicky Morgan, has been confirmed. Morgan, who was appointed to the role in July, succeeded Andrew Tyrie. The committee membership also includes Mann as well as MPs Rushanara Ali, Charlie Elphicke, Stephen Hammond, Stewart Hosie, Alister Jack, Kit Malthouse, Alison McGovern, Catherine McKinnell and Wes Streeting.  The committee has already held its first evidence session with HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) quizzing chief executive and permanent secretary Jon Thompso...
