FCA calls on Schwarzenegger to tell claimants to 'do it now' in new PPI advert

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has hired Terminator star Arnold Schwarzenegger for its campaign to spread awareness of the deadline for bringing claims about Payment Protection Insurance (PPI).

In the new advert, an animatronic model of Schwarzenegger's head is seen urging consumers to "do it now" and make a decision about making a PPI complaint before the deadline on 29 August 2019 - a reference to his 1987 movie Predator. The campaign is funded by 18 firms including banks, building societies and credit card providers who had the most PPI complaints. The campaign cost totalled £42.2m, of which £4.9m was spent on production, including fees for the Hollywood star.
